We are pleased to announce that registration is now open for the 3rd Border Biomedical Research Center Symposium entitled “Health Disparities: From Molecules to Disease” to be held September 17 – 19, 2017. The symposium will feature presentations by leading scientists and clinicians on topics of significant public health importance including diabetes, cancer, infectious disease, neurobiology/behavior, environmental toxicology and the role that community outreach can play in delivering better health outcomes to underrepresented minorities.
The primary goal of this symposium is the exchange of knowledge in state-of-the-art basic and translational research as well as the application of effective community outreach strategies focused on addressing issues of health disparity.
This year we are also proud to celebrate the 25th anniversary of the Border Biomedical Research Center. Since its creation, biomedical and translational research activities at UTEP have grown tremendously and resulted in the training of a new generation of biomedical scientists with a 21st century demographic.
