About RTRN

Ethics and Regulatory

The Ethics and Regulatory subcommittee is responsible for ensuring that RTRN activities meet and exceed standards for regulatory compliance, placing particular emphasis upon meeting federal requirements and addressing privacy issues for health and research related electronic records at the clinical sites. This also includes interfacing with institutional research subject advocates and Institutional Review Boards (IRB), when appropriate. This subcommittee ensures compliance with HIPAA and that there are adequate securities and privacy. The Ethics and Regulatory subcommittee is charged with staying abreast of relevant industry and governmental mandates that will directly impact the Network’s research environment.
