About RTRN

The Research Centers in Minority Institutions (RCMI) Translational Research Network (RTRN) is a national consortium of basic, behavioral, clinical and translational researchers in the RCMI Centers, working in collaboration with investigators from other academic health centers, community health providers, and the public to focus their collective efforts on addressing health disparities. RTRN facilitates innovative multi- and cross-disciplinary translational research to generate evidence-based new knowledge and techniques to prevent, diagnose, and treat a host of diseases that are Healthy People 2020 Priorities.

The fusion of RTRN’s five major components: scientific leadership, research and development, community engagement, education and training, and its Data and Technology Coordinating Center (DTCC), is creating an environment for leveraging the unique and robust institutional resources within the RCMI community.  RCMI institutions utilize these resources to bolster scientific discovery and accelerate the delivery of culturally appropriate and cost-effective outcomes to the doorsteps of our patients.

RTRN is supported by grant number U54RR022762 from the National Center for Research Resources, National Institutes of Health (NIH) and National Institute of Minority Health and Health Disparities, NIH.
