The AXIS Biomedical Informatics function is dedicated to providing investigators at Charles Drew University (CDU) with state-of-the-art informatics solutions for their research projects. AXIS Biomedical Informatics comprises a multi-disciplinary team of researchers with backgrounds and interest in clinical medicine, biomedical informatics, medical geography and geographical information systems, computer science, sociotechnical theories and qualitative methods.

    Repository of methodological expertise, research resources, and technical infrastructure to provide consultation and services and support for use of IT related infrastructure (e.g., Internet2, Access Grid).

  • Biobanking Information System (Software)
    Production version of biobanking information system based on caTissue Suite available for CDU researcher use. caTissue Suite allows end-users to catalogue and manage their biospecimen collections at CDU more efficiently and effectively, will permit more sophisticated analysis of existing data, and will facilitate data exchange for research studies between institutions in accordance with national standards.
