Please mark your calendars for the 24th Annual International Symposium of the Center for Study of Gene Structure & Function (Gene Center) at Hunter College and the Clinical and Translational Science Center (CTSC) at Weill Cornell Medical College (WCMC).
The symposium entitled "RNA Structure and Function: A New Frontier in Biomedical Research” will take place on Friday, January 21, 2011 from 8:30 AM-5:30 PM at Hunter College in New York City.
Participating speakers include :
Phillip A. Sharp (1993 Nobel Prize in Physiology or Medicine), Koch Institute for Integrative Cancer Research, MIT; Nahum Sonenberg (2002 Robert L. Noble Prize from the National Cancer Institute of Canada), Rosalind and Morris Goodman Cancer Centre, McGill University; Joan A. Steitz (2006 Gairdner Foundation International Award), HHMI/Yale University; Robert Schneider, NYU Langone Medical Center; Mariano Garcia-Blanco, Duke University Medical Center; Luca Cartegni, Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center; Juli Feigon, UCLA and Dixie Goss, Hunter College, CUNY.
This one-day event will be a forum to promote cross-disciplinary discussion on the recent translational advances in the RNA field that are expanding our understanding of molecular genetics and promoting the development of new therapeutic possibilities.
This event is FREE and open to the public. Please visit the Gene Center symposium webpage @ http://rnasymposium2011.hunter.cuny.edu to learn more about the event, speakers, presentations and registration.
Mark your calendars today to attend this important event.
