Dr. Bernd Moosmann from Johannes Guttenberg University (Mainz, Germany) will discuss his recent research in longevity in animals as product of the biochemical adaptations in mitochondria.

Participants will learn:

  • About the role of mitochondrially-encoded amino acids in aerobic longevity in a variety of species
  • Support for the free radical theory of aging.

Who should attend?
Researcher interested in longevity and lifespan, mitochondrial DNA, oxidative stress and evolution.  Researcher interested in sequence analysis and bioinformatics may also find this seminar useful.
