Assistant Professor Experimental Materials Physics

 

The Department of Physics at The University of Texas at El Paso (UTEP) invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor position in experimental Materials Physics. Preference will be given to candidates with expertise in functional materials synthesis, particularly materials for catalysis, clean energy, sensors, and extreme conditions applications. Outstanding candidates in other research areas of Materials Physics will also be considered. The successful candidate is expected to establish an independent, externally funded research program; to mentor students and teach both undergraduate and graduate level courses in Physics; and to engage in outreach and service activities. UTEP Physics faculty contributes to various interdisciplinary Ph.D. programs including one in Materials Science and Engineering. Applicants should hold a Ph.D. in Physics or a closely related discipline, possess postdoctoral experience, and have a strong record of research accomplishments. The interested candidates should submit a letter of interest, curriculum vitae, statement of research interests, description of teaching philosophy, and contact information for at least three references.
